This
week Ian Wallach discusses exonoration.
We will speak with Cynthia Orr -- one of the top criminal defense
lawyers in the nation, ( co-chair elect to the Criminal Justice Section of the
American Bar Association and recipient of this year's prestigious Robert Heeney
award) about the process of exoneration, and the unexpected hurdles that can
face an innocent person who has been wrongly convicted. And we also welcome Christopher Ochoa, an
innocent man who was convicted of rape and murder and incarcerated for 11
years, and then was exonerated in 2011.
His conviction was based on a coerced confession, and we will discuss
what that is and how it takes place. You
will also learn his surprising take on the Criminal Justice system. Ian Wallach also discusses the Joseph Lamont
Walker trial in Annapolis, Maryland, the execution of Joseph R. Wood (the
fourth botched execution of 2014), and the warrant in the Manassas sexting
case. A link to the show is here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/wallachlaw/2014/08/03/wallach-on-law-featuring-cynthia-orr-christopher-ochoa
