Joseph
R. Wood III was executed in Arizona last month.
The procedure took two hours. It was the fourth botched execution so far this
year, and prompted that Arizona's Attorney General to issue a temporary halt on
the practice. Wood’s attorneys have
argued that the executioners
injected him with 15 times the standard dose of a sedative and a painkiller
during a procedure that lasted nearly two hours before their client was
declared dead. A New York Times Article
addressing this can be read here: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/02/us/executed-arizona-man-given-15-times-standard-dose-lawyers-say.html?ref=todayspaper&_r=0
